Our 7th grader has been attending Read Academy for less than two months and we've already seen a massive sea-change in his personality and outlook. He's not only happier he has more confidence about his academic abilities. He sees himself as a good student now, and he's developed good homework habits. We don't even have to remind him to do his homework anymore. He's excited to tell us about what he's learning at school, which he didn't do when he was in public school and he was just struggling to keep up. He used to be so withdrawn and overwhelmed that he could barely engage in conversation with us, but now he's eager to talk to us at dinner about ideas and science and history. When we first toured the school our daughter was very resisten to the change. Now that she has been there for the summer program, as well as, a regular school year she LOVES it. She has gone from not wanting to go to school, to thriving. Her confidence is higher, not just in school, but also socially. The small class sizes are imperative for learning intervention to work. The reading teachers knowledge and curriculum is so strong. The classes are engaging. The staff is warm, welcoming, and easy to communicate with. I cannot recommend READ Academy enough!

This place has been the best experience for my son. More growth in one month than two years with IEP resources at our assigned district school. Whether or not your child has a dyslexia diagnosis, but is below grade level performance standards, send them to Read. Reach out to education advocates and/or lawyers. There are ways to afford the tuition. Make it happen for your kid. Literacy is a right and unfortunately the public school system does not guarantee this. Make it happen for your kid.

Just visit... watch the teachers interact with the students in the classroom. They just love these kids- they nurture them. From the first call with Ms. Shelly at the front and tutoring to Leah with her kind words and encouragement and insight to education My kid regained his educational spark and loved it there. Even the pick up lines are run efficiently and with care! Just Amazing

Our son who has dyslexia was struggling as a fourth grader, to say the least, with Common Core teaching in our local elementary school. Currently as a fifth grader, he is thriving at Read Academy of Sacramento. His confidence is growing not only in reading and writing, but he is also trusting in his learning environment.
